Missing woman found with her throat slit

KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating a murder after a woman went missing from the Malvern Park Mall, and was found with her throat slit.

Nalin Naidoo (35) was believed to have been dropped off at the Malvern Park Mall by her husband, local businessman, Seelan Naidoo on Thursday, Rising Sun Chatsworth reported.

Malvern police spokesperson Warrant Officer Radhika Marimuthu said when she did not return after four hours, he proceeded opened a missing person’s report at the police station.

The case was registered and sent to all surrounding police stations.

The following day, Kwa-Ndengezi police discovered the body of a woman in the veld near the Shongweni Dam which fit Naidoo’s description.

Seelan Naidoo declined to comment on the murder.

Colonel Jay Naicker said the motive for the killing remained unknown at this stage, and no arrests had been made.

In a separate incident, a missing woman was found dead with her throat cut at a mine shaft in Bekkersdal in the south of Randfontein in the Gauteng earlier this year.

The woman was last seen on April 24 after visiting her boyfriend in Protea Glen, Soweto.

The following day her vehicle was found abandoned in Protea Glen and the case was changed from missing person to kidnapping.

No arrests were made.
