A R50,000 reward has been offered for information on the kidnapping of a baby from the Dunnottar military base near Heidelberg, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

The baby girl, who was aged 18 months at the time, was kidnapped on December 31 last year, Lt-Col Khensani Magoai said.

A woman, who applied for a domestic worker job under false pretences, took the child from her parents’ home in the base.

“The next morning the boyfriend of the mother of the child noticed that the child was missing from the house, with the unknown woman,” said Magoai.
