A Moroccan consulate employee was found dead on Tuesday at a rented flat in Pretoria, Gauteng police said.

The man, in his 40s, was found in a pool of blood around midday by his colleagues, Brigadier Neville Malila said.

“His colleagues went looking for him after he did not pitch for work in the morning.”

No suspects had been identified and no arrests had been made yet, Malila said.

Police were waiting for medical and autopsy results to determine the cause of death, he said.

A murder docket was opened.
