Five-year-old boy hit by car in Germiston

A five-year-old boy was critically injured after being hit by a car in Germiston, on the east Rand, on Monday morning, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santie Steinmann said the accident happened on Rondebult Road near Heidelberg Road, Germiston.

The boy was crossing the road to get to a car waiting for him.

“While crossing the road the boy was knocked over by a light delivery vehicle, where Netcare 911 paramedics found the critically injured boy lying on the roadway upon their arrival on scene.”

He was airlifted to hospital.
