Drug awareness in Eastern Cape

Police held a drug awareness campaign at a school in Mdantsane, near East London, on Tuesday, Eastern Cape police said.

“Mdantsane police, in partnership with the departments of social development and education, held a drug awareness campaign at Hlokoma High, NU-3, Mdantsane today,” said Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku.

An ex-convict shared his experiences with the pupils.

“Pupils at Hlokoma High were so emotional when listening to him narrating how bad life is [in] prison.

“He emphasised to the learners that bad choices results in bad outcomes.”

A school prefect thanked the authorities for their visit.

“I would like to extend a special thanks to the ex-convict, for sharing with us his experiences in prison. It is indeed an eye opener, we will stay away from drugs and focus on our future”, he said.
