The duo had been each sentenced to 18 years imprisonment on the rape charge, and five years for the creation of child pornography in Brenthurst on Gauteng’s East Rand, according to Brakpan Herald.
The Delmas High Court had heard how the toddler was raped by her mother’s friend between January and April last year.
This was said to have been done with the mother’s consent, while the acts were filmed.
The duo’s identities may not be named to protect the child’s identity.
The filming and distribution of child pornography came under the spotlight again last year after a syndicate was uncovered by an organisation based in Canada.
In August last year, six men, including a teacher and a retired school principal, appeared in various South African courts in connection with distributing and manufacturing child pornography.
The six were arrested in four provinces on August 15 after a tip-off from Interpol.
They were arrested in Lichtenburg, Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein, White River, Douglasdale and Florida in Gauteng following a year-long investigation by Interpol and the police’s cyber-crimes unit, according to media reports.
In February, Gauteng police said a seventh arrest had been made in connection with the syndicate – described as a group of professionals which included priests, caretakers and computer experts.
Gauteng Commissioner Lieutenant-General Lesetja Joel Mothiba reportedly said the problem of sexual exploitation of children through the usage of technology devices and communication platforms was growing.
