A man who accidentally shot his son at a hunting expo in Midrand is expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Sean Kotzin has been charged with negligent use of a firearm. He was arrested on April 30.

His seven-year-old son was critically wounded at Gallagher Estate during the hunting expo when Kotzin went into a toilet cubicle with him and his gun went off, hitting the boy in the chest.

In his previous court appearance the matter was postponed for further investigations.

State prosecutor Ayanda Bakana said the ballistic and medical reports were outstanding.
