TimesLive reported that Makhura succumbed to pressure from the ANC Youth League to sack Sexwale.
According to the article, sources allegedly said that the ANCYL delegates attending the ANC’s provincial lekgotla at the weekend expressed their discontent about Sexwale’s appointment, specifically with regards to her ‘attitude’ towards President Zuma and the ANC.
However Sexwale denies that she ever accepted the offer and even tweeted an image of a letter that she had penned to Makhura, in which she declines the position. The letter, supposedly written on Monday, states that she could not take the position of a full-time public servant at this time.
She added that she would continue serving the ANC in any way that the organisation deemed fit.
In her twitter post she also said denied the claims, saying that Makhura is a leader who does not respond to pressure and has not booted anyone.
