One killed in Joburg crash

A driver was killed in an accident near the 14th Avenue onramp to the N1, in Fairland, on Sunday morning, Johannesburg Emergency Management Services said.

Spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said a BMW and a Suzuki collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Suzuki died on the scene. Fire fighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the body from the wreckage.

The driver of the BMW was not injured.

Mulaudzi appealed to motorists to be vigilant on the roads and respect speed limits.
