Paramedics found the wreck in bushes alongside the national freeway.

One person was killed and two others seriously injured on Monday morning when their car crashed along the N3 Durban Bound near the Pavilion.

Rescue Care operations director Garrith Jamieson said paramedics found the wreck in bushes alongside the national freeway.

“One person had sustained major injuries and was assessed immediately by paramedics. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for the man and he was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

“Two other men had sustained serious injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further care that they required.”

Local authorities are investigating.
