The party said it ‘has noted a number of so-called ANC statements on social media purporting to have been released by the Secretary General of the organisation’.

The African National Congress (ANC) on Wednesday said it had noted a number of statements on social media purportedly issued by the party and stated that it had not posted any of them.

In a terse statement issued by Khusela Diko, the party said it “has noted a number of so-called ANC statements on social media purporting to have been released by the Secretary General of the organisation”.

“The ANC distances itself from these statements. All official communication from the ANC to the media is issued via the ANC Media List.

“Any other correspondence not emanating from this platform should be viewed with circumspect and clarity in such instances should be sought from the comrades mandated to speak on behalf of the ANC.”
