Four in Brits court for the missing of two Mooinooi women

Four men who have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of two women were due to apply for bail on Friday.

Four men arrested in connection with the disappearance of two Mooinooi women were due to apply for bail at the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Friday, North West police said.

Warrant Officer Mpeile Talane said Aaron Sithole, Jack Mokotedi,  and Koos Strydom were arrested in Majakaneng on December 14, they appeared in court on December 15 and their case was postponed to December 22 for bail application.

The fourth man Alex Mudau was arrested in Majakaneng on December 15, he appeared in court on December 18 and his case was postponed to December 22 for him to appear together with his accomplices.

The four are facing charges of murder, kidnapping, robbery, unlawful possession of firearm and defeating the course of justice.

Their arrest followed the disappearance of Joey van Niekerk, 32, and Gesina Sophia Anisha van Niekerk, 30, of Mooinooi. They left for a funeral in Pretoria on December 10, but never arrived.

The woman’s car was found burnt on December 16 in the Magaliesburg area.
