Bakkie overturns in KZN, leaving seven injured

Several passengers, that had been travelling on the back of the bakkie, were found walking around on the scene.

Seven people were injured on Thursday morning after the bakkie they were travelling in overturned along the N3 highway, near the Peacevale off-ramp, Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said: “Several passengers, that had been travelling on the back of the bakkie, were found walking around on the scene. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that seven had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.”

Meiring said the patients were treated on the scene and thereafter taken to Hillcrest Private and Life Westville Hospital.

Local authorities were on the scene, and they are investigating the cause of the crash.
