Police seize drugs, money and scale during raid

During the search, they found and confiscated 11.6kg of tik worth R600k inside the house.

A couple were expected to appear in the Strand Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday on charges of drug dealing after a police raid uncovered over 11 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine or tik as its more commonly known in South Africa.

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said police received a tip-off about suspicious activity at a house in Lwandle, Strand and obtained a search warrant.

“During the search, they found and confiscated 11.6kg of tik inside the house. The estimated value of the Tik is approximately R600,000,” said Van Wyk.

“Members also seized an amount in cash of R110 000, an electrical scale and a money counting machine.”
