Man critically injured in Durban bakkie crash

At this stage the cause of the collision was unknown, but police were investigating.

A man believed to be in his 30s was critically injured when two bakkies collided at the corner of Quality Street and Balfour Road in Jacobs, Durban on Saturday morning, paramedics said.

Just after 8am Rescue Care paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two badly damaged bakkies in the intersection, Rescue Care spokesman Garrith Jamieson said.

“One male believed to be in his 30s was found in a critical condition. Advanced life support paramedics worked on the man who then went into cardiac arrest. Resuscitation efforts were carried out and the man regained a pulse. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he required. One other man had sustained minor injuries and was also transported to hospital.”

At this stage the cause of the collision was unknown, but police were investigating, he said.
