Four people were injured, some seriously, when the car they were travelling in left the road and overturned on the R500 near Fochville in Gauteng on Sunday morning, paramedics said.

“Shortly after 7am, paramedics from ER24 and local EMS arrived on [the] scene where they found the occupants near the vehicle,” ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said.

One person was treated for serious injuries, while the rest were treated for injuries ranging from “scrapes, bruises, and possible back and neck injuries”.

The injured were stabilised on the scene and transported to Sebokeng Hospital for further care. The cause of the crash was not yet known, Vermaak said.
