Vosburg police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after six men died when the minibus they were travelling in left the road and overturned on the R384 between Vosburg and Carnarvon late on Friday afternoon, Northern Cape police said.

The accident happened at about 5.45pm, Captain Olebogeng Tawana said on Saturday.

“Our preliminary investigation indicates that [the] Kombi could possibly [have] had a tyre bust and in the process the driver lost control.”

The driver and other five passengers were certified dead at the accident scene by emergency services personnel. Four other passengers were seriously injured and transported to hospital by emergency services, Tawana said.
