Two people accused of killing a man and leaving his body in the boot of a car at Montecasino, Johannesburg, will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Jean-Pierre Malan and his girlfriend Maruschka Robinson, a former stripper, face murder charges after Dustan Blom’s decomposing body was found in the boot of his own car in the parking garage at the entertainment venue in September. Robinson was arrested on September 24, and Malan on September 26.

During their last appearance, prosecutor Yusuf Baba told the court Robinson had made a confession.

Baba said the State would lead evidence stating that when Blom was charged with drinking and driving in last May, Robinson helped with his release.

“Robinson had access to cards, passports, identity document before he [Blom] passed away,” he said.

The State would show the murder was premeditated, Baba said.
