Two men found inside an ATM at a petrol station in Kwazakhele, Port Elizabeth, were arrested for malicious damage to property on Monday, police said.

Police were responding to an alarm that had gone off at 3.51am at the petrol station on Salamntu Street, Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu said.

“…While the police were still securing the scene, they noticed two men, 18 and 20, who were inside the machine.”

No explosives were used and no money had been taken from the machine, Gwavu said.

The two would appear in the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
