Car collides with a train in Randfontein

The driver is in a stable condition and sustained mild to moderate injuries, paramedics says.

A woman was in stable condition in hospital after her car collided with a train in Randfontein on Thursday, paramedic services said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said the collision occurred at a crossing near the Millsite train station, off the R41 Randfontein road.

He said Netcare 911 paramedics together with the Mogale City Provincial ambulance service worked to treat and extricate the female driver of the car.

“She was in a stable condition and had sustained mild to moderate injuries. She was the only person injured in the incident and was transported by the Provincial ambulance service to hospital for further medical care,” he said.
