Ten people injured in Midvaal crash

The cause of the accident was not known and would be investigated.

Ten people were injured when two bakkies collided on the R551 in Midvaal on Wednesday, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that paramedics arrived on the scene to find both bakkies on the side of the road.

“Occupants that had been on the back of one of the bakkies were found spread around the scene. Paramedics immediately assessed the patients and found that ten had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious,” he said.

“The patients were treated for their injuries, and the seriously injured provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni and Mediclinic Vereeniging for urgent treatment.”

The cause of the accident was not known and would be investigated, he said.
