In the video Parow explains that he and a friend borrowed a catamaran, but that the police didn’t believe him and he had been detained. He goes on to say that they refuse to let him out before Monday so he won’t make the popular music festival due to be held in Northam over the weekend.
The video received a number of comments disappointed by the news, like one person asked: “You say you can’t make a plan. It’s the middle of the week, you will appear in court tomorrow and get a date.”
Parow also shared his apologies on twitter.
Muse Magazine reported that the singer was detained in the early hours of this morning on charges of allegedly disturbing the peace. According to the online report, Parow and some friends were staying at the Vaalkop dam 60 km South East of Northam. Parow and a friend allegedly took a catamaran out on a joy ride on the dam at about 1.30am and after repeated requests over loud hailers Parow and his friend finally returned to shore where they were detained for public disorder and disturbing the peace.
