Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi on Thursday expressed his shock and sent condolences to families of the deceased after an accident on the R82 near Walkerville, which claimed at least eight lives and left others injured this morning.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased during this time of grief and speedy recovery to the injured. We would like to once again urge drivers to always exercise caution and patience on the roads,” MEC Vadi said.
Eight people were killed and four others critically injured Thursday morning after their taxi overturned while travelling along the R82 towards Walkerville, south of Johannesburg, ER24 said in a statement.
Vadi expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
