A case against a couple accused of killing their three-year-old daughter was postponed to March at the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Louisa Koekemoer appeared alongside her husband Kobus Koekemoer for the alleged murder of Poppie van Der Merwe.

Kobus Koekemoer, Poppie’s stepfather, allegedly kicked her to death at a farm in Mamogaleskraal near Brits on October 25 last year, she died on arrival in hospital.

He was arrested in October and Louisa was arrested on December 15 after a post-mortem indicated that Poppie had died from a severe brain haemorrhage caused by a blunt object. Police arrested her when she told police a different version of what had happened.

Both have been refused bail.

Their case was postponed to March 28 for investigations.
