Three people are expected to appear in the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for allegedly murdering a policeman.

Malmesbury police warrant officer Deon Dumas was reported missing by his family on Christmas Eve after failing to return home.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said two women and a man arrested during the course of Tuesday had lead police to Dumas’s body.

The 57-year-old warrant officer’s body was found in an abandoned building.

Two of the suspects were found in possession of his car, a white BMW.

They will be charged with hijacking and murder.
