Two teenage girls, who are on holiday on KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast, were chased by a naked man on Umtentweni Beach on Wednesday afternoon, reports the South Coast Herald.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zanda Wiid said the man walked past the girls, then turned around and began taking off his clothes.

The teens ran, but the stark naked man gave chase.

Fortunately, they managed to evade the man by fleeing into the bush.

“The incident was reported to the police, and an indecent exposure docket has been opened,” she said.

She added that Warrant Officer Marc Wiid and Warrant Officer Rommel da Rosa from Port Shepstone SAPS search and rescue, with search and rescue dog, Bear, searched the beach for the suspect.

Shortly afterwards, a 32-year-old man fitting the description given by the girls was located hiding in the bush.

He was arrested and detained.
