Nkandla police seek community help to nab alleged murderer


A suspect is wanted in connection with murder and theft committed at Madiyane area in Nkandla.

Nkandla police on Thursday appealed to the community for any information that could lead to the arrest of a man who killed a woman and stole her car in the area last week.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele identified 37-year-old Muzikayise ‘Mzi’ Khanyile as a suspect wanted in connection with the murder and theft committed at Madiyane area in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal.

“On 6 December 2016, a body of a female was found under the bridge with two stab wounds on the chest and neck,” Mbhele said.

“It is alleged that the deceased was killed by the suspect and he stole her motor vehicle and two cellphones.”

Mbhele said a case was opened at Nkandla Police Station for further investigation, and the warrant of arrest has been issued.

Police are appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to contact the investigating officer, Constable TH Ndlela on 072 228 7582 or 035 833 0053.
