At least three people, including two children, were injured on Thursday after two vehicles collided, forcing one of the vehicles off the M13 St Johns Bridge in Pinetown, in KwaZulu-Natal, ER24 said.
ER24 paramedics, along with another emergency services provider, found one vehicle in the middle of the road while another lay at the bottom of an embankment at the bottom of the bridge.
ER24 said: “When paramedics inspected the vehicle at the bottom of the embankment, they found that a man and two boys, aged three and five, had been injured in the collision and fortunately the injuries sustained were only moderate.”
ER24 said paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment, while the driver of the other light motor vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
