Attempted robbery at Villieria cafe in PTA

A police officer was in the cafe when the suspects tried to rob the owner.


A man was arrested during an attempted robbery at a cafe in Villieria cafe on Wednesday in Pretoria, Rekord Moot reports.

CSI Tactical Response spokesperson Theo Breedt said three men walked into the shop at about 8pm.

“A police officer was in the cafe while the suspects tried to rob the owner,” Breedt said.

“When the police officer realised the cafe was being robbed, he and the suspects got involved in a fight.”

Breedt said the police officer shot one of the robbers in the thigh.

“The injured man and a second suspect fled the scene.”

Breedt said the officer fired shots at the men as they ran away. The third man was arrested on the scene.

Breedt said nothing was stolen from the shop.
