The victim seems to have known the man.

A Mini SUV was allegedly hijacked in Vanderbijlpark, south of Johannesburg, on Wednesday night, Sedibeng Ster reports.

It is said the victim was about to drive into her yard when a man dragged her out of the car and kissed her before he drove off.

The alleged victim opened the gate into her yard before driving in when the suspect grabbed her by the neck and dragged her out of the car.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale confirmed that a case of hijacking was opened by Vanderbijlpark police.

“The victim seems to have been known to the suspect because the victim asked the suspect to talk before he drove off. However, the suspect had hidden his face by wearing a balaclava,” said Makhale.

The car was in a dire state when it was found. There was no one in the car, it was broken from all sides, and the airbag was out.

Makhale said it was not clear if the suspect had been spinning the car.
