The body of a man who went missing in August last year, was discovered in the Magaliesberg Mountain range near a lodge in De Rust last Thursday, reports the Kormorant.
John Pearse (42) from Craighall Park went missing on August 29, 2015 from his home. His car, a white Toyota Yaris was found near Pecanwood a few days later. According to information, family members had a holiday home at Pecanwood.
Hikers discovered the body while hiking in the mountain behind Leopard Lodge on Thursday.
At the time of his disappearance, it was reported that Pearse was last seen leaving his home in Craighall Park shortly after 9am on August 29, 2015. His wife and two daughters were the last to see him. According to reports he had left his phone at home.
After his car was recovered in Hartbeespoort, the police search moved here.
Pearse’s sister-in-law wrote on her Facebook page on Saturday: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Jancsi’s (John Pearse’s) body has been found in the Magaliesberg. It has been a long 15 months so although it is very tragic news we now have certainty.”
Pearse’s father, Frank Charles Pearse, also disappeared in the Magaliesberg Mountain range near Marikana in August 2004. He was 66 at the time and has not been found.
