Occupants of a taxi were lucky to escape uninjured after it caught fire on Voortrekker Road, just off the R21, in Kempton Park earlier on Monday.
The incident happened under the Albatross Road bridge, Kempton Express reported.
ER24 paramedics attended to the incident and found the taxi on fire.
According to ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing, fire and rescue attended to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
“It’s understood that everyone travelling in the vehicle got out safely. The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown,” she explained.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are under way.
