Two die after gang violence in Joburg

‘The gang violence is connected to initiation schools’.

The community of Bophelong in Johannesburg is still shocked after a fight between two rival gangs broke out on Sunday afternoon.

Three houses and four shacks were set alight after the two gangs clashed, Sedibeng Ster rports.

Two young men were stabbed to death with pangas and are allegedly believed to be members of two gangs dubbed Mopheme and Diamond.

It is alleged the gang violence is connected to initiation schools.

According to reports,  an ambulance got a tyre puncture on the way to attending to a victim in Extension 11.

Another ambulance was assigned but the victim, who is a member of Mopheme did not make it to the hospital. He died on the way.

Names of deceased have not been made public.
