The farmer was stabbed several times.

A 60-year-old farmer was attacked and killed in a suspected robbery outside Thohoyandou, Limpopo, police said on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said Hendrik Pieter Bonnema was found with stab wounds on Tuesday night.

“It is alleged that he left his house to visit the relatives in the area, and when he returned, he was attacked by unknown suspects. They stabbed him several times with sharp instruments throughout his body, killing him instantly,” Ngoepe said.

“Police were summoned, and on arrival, the deceased’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds throughout his body, and our preliminary investigations revealed that his attackers also robbed him of his cellphone and car keys.”
