Taxi, cement truck collision leaves four injured in Joburg

Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to Witkoppen Clinic.

A minibus taxi crashed into a cement truck in Douglasdale, north of Johannesburg, on Wednesday morning leaving four people injured, ER24 emergency medical services said.

At the Douglas Road and Alexander Road intersection, paramedics found a taxi, cement truck and two light motor vehicles had been involved in a crash and were blocking the two-lane road.

“On closer inspection, paramedics found that only four occupants from the taxi, three women and one man, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene,” ER24 said.

Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to Witkoppen Clinic.

“Local authorities are on scene for further investigations,” ER24 said.
