Thirty-three-year-old Petrus Dakala was arrested in January for allegedly plotting to kill investigators probing Maswanganyi’s murder.
Dakala was also allegedly linked to Maswanganyi’s murder.
His co-accused, a warrant officer from the Vaal, faced charges relating to conspiracy to kill the police officers probing the murder of Maswanganyi.
This brings to six the number of people arrested in connection with Maswanganyi’s death.
Four people, including three SA National Defence Force officers, were arrested last year in connection with Maswanganyi’s murder.
Maswanganyi was found dead in a field next to the R101, near Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria in June.
