A man in his late 30s died on the corner of Steve Biko and Soutpansberg roads in Pretoria Central on Sunday morning, September 25, after the car he was driving crashed into a Jacaranda tree, reports the Centurion Rekord.

The man suffered fatal head injuries.

Derrick Kekana, an emergency care technician and spokesperson for Smart Medics Ambulance Service, said: “It seemed like the driver was on a very high speed, where he lost control over his car and crashed into a Jacaranda tree. He was killed instantly.”

Also on Sunday morning at about 5am, a minibus and a light motor vehicle collided. One of the drivers, a 24-year-old man, sustained serious head injuries.
