Tshwane Child Welfare is fed up with the people who party in their street in Mamelodi West over weekends, Pretoria East Rekord reports.
The organisation has complained that people urinate against their wall on Tsweu Street.
Social worker Anastatia Mosethla said: “Starting on Thursdays, the street becomes very busy as people visit the pubs and taverns to party, and when they leave they litter outside in the street, throw bottles and urinate against the wall.”
“It is a big problem for us because they are damaging our wall and litter in front of the building.
“They sometimes even throw beer bottles inside our yard,” she said.
Mosetlha said the acts were disgusting and unhygienic.
“It is not safe for our children at the centre. Since April we have been running a daily preschool. What if the children pick up the beer bottles and drink from them?”
She said the staff had to start every Friday and Monday morning by cleaning in front of the building and picking up bottles in the yard, which she found unacceptable.
“We have reported the matter to the metro police and the Concerned Tshwane Liquor Traders Organisation to do something about this situation before it gets out of hand.”
