Five injured in KZN sub-station explosion

The patients were stabilised on scene and transported to various local hospitals for further treatment.

Five men were seriously injured in an explosion at a sub-station in Richard Carte Road in Durban South this morning, reports the Southlands Sun.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived at the scene to find that the five men sustained serious injuries, and more ambulances and advanced life support paramedics were called to help with the multiple casualty scene.

Once all the injured had been stabilised, they were transported to nearby hospitals.

The cause of the explosion is unknown, but the Durban fire department is investigating.
