Momberg’s February rant after falling victim to a smash-and-grab was captured on video and went viral on social media last month.

Estate agent Vicki Momberg’s appearance in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for her racist rant towards black police officers offering her assistance has been remanded to August 1.

Momberg’s February rant after falling victim to a smash-and-grab was captured on video and went viral on social media last month.

Senior prosecutor Yusuf Baba successfully applied to Magistrate Penny Viljoen for media to access the trial via camera access.

Defence counsel Nardus Grove argued it would prejudice Momberg and affect her career, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Viljoen ruling against her in the crimen injuria matter.

In the video, Momberg is heard saying: “One k****r is bad enough. This happens all the time, all the time. The k*****s here in Johannesburg are terrible, I’m so sick of it.”

According to Grove, Momberg has written a letter of apology to the police members involved and wants to meet them to apologise in person.
