AKA begrudgingly congratulates Black Coffee on BET win

With #AKAwinanga continuing, the rapper conceded that although the artist was not his friend, he deserves respect.

The year just keeps getting better for DJ Black Coffee after he became the first South African to win a BET Award in the Best International Act – Africa category. The award has been dominated by west Africans in the past.

He was up against AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Serge Beynaud and Diamond Platnumz.

The #AKAwinanga trend is continuing, although the South Africans have all done Mzansi proud, but Black Coffee most of all.

AKA took to Twitter to point out that he and the winning artist don’t really get along, but that he respected the man and his art.


The awards were held in Los Angeles and Cassper Nyovest has been saying he was enjoying at all so much that he wanted to become an African-American.
