In a protracted debate on Twitter involving, among other topics, land, racism, and apartheid, EFF national chairperson Dali Mpofu said white people were not EFF’s enemy, but rather a system based on white supremacy and a superiority complex.
This comes after Miguel Gomes @miguelgomes, said to Mpofu: “when EFF talks about whites being the enemy, not very ambiguous. Want to believe in EFF but not with that talk.”
Mpofu responded: “EFF has NEVER EVER said whites are the enemy. The enemy is a system based on white supremacy & superiority complex!”
Sam Dixon @SamDixonSA asked Mpofu another question: “So much of our society operates culturally through patriarchy & patronage. How do you expect to manage this?”
Mpofu said: “Leave? To where?? Whites must ONLY accept to SHARE the ill-gotten gains of racism, violence and murder over 340 years …”
In a separate debate, Mpofu argued “the notion of EQUALITY must not be confined to race but ALL divides along gender, disability, age, sexual orientation …”
South African political parties are gearing up for the local government election. With the ANC having launched its election manifesto, the country now waits eagerly for the Democratic Alliance and the EFF to launch their manifestos.
