A man is his 40s was on Sunday evening ejected from his car and killed as it rolled along Graceland Road in Secunda, Mpumalanga, reports ER24.
Spokesperson Russel Meiring said local authorties called for help and when paramedics arrived at the accident scene they found the vehicle in the middle of the road and the driver lying five metres away.
“On assessment, paramedics found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene,” said Meiring in a terse statement on Monday.
The cause of the incident is not yet known, but local authorities were investigating.
In another incident, two women were seriously injured on Sunday afternoon when two cars collided at the Francios Baard and Hamilton roads intersection in Arcadia, Pretoria, Gauteng paramedics said.
“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found both vehicles on the side of the road, both having sustained a large amount of damage in the collision,” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.
On assessment, paramedics found a middle-aged woman seated next to her car while a woman in her 70s lay trapped inside her car.
“Rescue officers from provincial services had to remove the roof of the vehicle using the jaws-of-life equipment, allowing paramedics access to the patient. Both patients were found to be in a serious condition.
“Once freed, paramedics treated both patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment,” Meiring said.
