The High Court in Cape Town has already reportedly found that the legislation which authorises his name being added to the register is unconstitutional.

The Sunday Independent reported that it found that this legislation did not allow an offenders to make representations to the court before their names were added to the register.

The teenage rapist reportedly wants the Constitutional Court to confirm the high court order.

The newspaper reported that he was convicted last August of raping three boys, two of them aged six and seven, and that he also had a previous conviction of assault, for stabbing a 12-year-old girl with a knife.

The matter was to be heard by the Constitutional Court in February.
