As millions of social grant recipients prepare for the festive season, several channels are available to receive their money, including digital and traditional sales and service channels via EasyPay Everywhere’s branches, digital, USSD and voice branch options.
EasyPay Everywhere is a financial services company that uses a team of mobile agents in remote communities and 230 branches nationwide to assist grant beneficiaries with access to reliable financial solutions and services.
The service allows grant recipients to open an account and access their funds through whatever means they prefer. Plus, there are additional financial services available, like reputable loans and insurance.
Over the years, many grant recipients have sadly not been able to access traditional financial products like loans, insurance and funeral cover.
EasyPay Everywhere customers however are able to access loans by simply dialling a USSD number and dealing with a consultant to possibly receive a loan in under 10 minutes.
“For many people in rural areas, the lack of accessible financial services is a barrier to improving their quality of life,” explained the executive head of sales and distribution at EasyPay Everywhere, Simphiwe Phakathi.
“We bring easy and affordable banking, loans, and insurance options to all communities. And we make it easier for people to get their grants and give them the all-around tools to take control of their finances.
“Our priority is to make sure that every grant recipient has uninterrupted access to their money. Plus, the financial solutions they need, wherever they are, to succeed,” concluded Phakathi.
By opting to have your grant paid into your EasyPay Everywhere account you can withdraw your money from any ATM at a fee of R10 plus 1% of the amount or simply swipe at the till at participating retailers for free.
You can also use your EasyPay Everywhere card to buy airtime, water, and electricity using 1203737#.
Like with EasyPay Everywhere, permanent grant beneficiaries can have their grants paid directly into their existing bank account. This is a convenient payment method as you can access your money at any time after grants are paid.
Grants are paid to selected stores around the country. Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer stores, Usave stores, OK and Checkers all distribute social grants.
There are also mobile cash pay points where you can collect your money. However, this is not a flexible payment option and you may only collect your grant payment for a few hours every month.
The good news for SRD grant beneficiaries is that the grant will be processing payments before Christmas this year.
The last SRD grant payment of 2024 will be processed from 17 to 23 December.
This month’s payment is due to take place next week Monday, 25 November to Saturday, 30 November.
During the payment week, recipients should check their status on the SRD website to confirm the exact date their grant payment will be in their bank accounts.
In September this year, Postbank announced that its new black Mzansi Debit Card will replace the gold card previously issued to social grant beneficiaries.
Despite the gold card still being valid, Postbank is urging grant beneficiaries to collect their new Postbank black cards as soon as possible and avoid waiting until the last minute.
A list of locations issuing new cards will be provided.
