Motsoaledi has declared himself “extraordinarily opposed” to allowing the private sector to build and run facilities where doctors can be trained. In his view, this would result in only the children of rich families being able to afford private medical training.
This is short-sighted. Already certain population groups face difficulties getting into medical schools, no matter how good their academic records.
