Children’s lives do not come cheap

That children are still losing their lives at the hands of armed thugs and gangsters is a sad reminder of how we are still failing to ensure our most vulnerable members of society enjoy their most preciuous right – the right to life.

Newspapers are on a daily basis full of stories of horrific crimes being committed against children.

The latest victim is a three-year-old Westbury boy who is fighting for his life in hospital after he was shot in crossfire from gang firefight while he was travelling in with his parents. The boy is among the five children who were wounded in a single day.
