Catcalls aren’t ‘just a laugh’

I was waiting for my bus on a cold, wet Dublin night last week when a car loaded with screeching young lads pulled up next to me.

I turned to see what the problem was and caught the eye of the chap in the passenger seat.

“Woo-hoo!” he shouted, and all his mates looked at me, quickly joining in. I turned away, pulling my hood closer to shield my face, but unfortunately I couldn’t shut my ears.
