No ocean too deep to stop us

As we look at new ways to diversify South Africa’s economy, government’s attention is shifting to the potential of harnessing the opportunities provided by our oceans for the benefit of our country’s economic growth.

It’s estimated the potential of untapped offshore oil reserves in South Africa’s oceans is as high as 9 billion barrels, which is equivalent to 40 years of oil consumption nationally or about 80% of current oil and gas imports.
