Every body must be brought home


The repatriation of 74 bodies of the 85 South African passport holders who perished in Lagos, Nigeria when a church-owned building collapsed more than two months ago marks a significant chapter in the lives of their relatives.

Though the long wait must have been agonising, they will finally be able to find closure by giving dignified burials to their loved ones.

While we are mindful of the fact there are still a few families whose loved ones’ bodies are still to be brought home, we are grateful for the role played by government in securing the release of the 74 bodies.
